On Friday, February 11th, the Anchor Bay High School Jazz Ensemble took part in the 38th annual Phi Mu Alpha/Central Michigan University Jazz Weekend.The festival featured over 60 of the finest high school jazz bands and combos from around the state of Michigan.
Congratulations to all ABHS Jazz Ensemble members!As part of the group's overall outstanding performance, the ABHS Jazz Ensemble was recognized with the 1st Runner-Up Outstanding Band Award in the Class AA division.Also receiving recognition was the ABHS Saxophone Section of Jessica Duggan, Amanda Rosoko, Katie Harbert, Sarah Blanchette, and Will Turri. These students were awarded the 1st Runner-Up Best Section Award.This marks the 12th time in the past 14 years that Anchor Bay HS has received a major award at the prestigious Phi Mu Alpha/Central Michigan University Jazz Weekend.
