By Anchor Bay Bands | Published 03/6/2010 | All Bands | Unrated

Congratulations to the Anchor Bay High School 9th Grade Cadet Band, 9th Grade Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble.  On Friday, March 5th and Saturday, March 6th, the bands participated in the District 16 MSBOA Band Festival hosted here at Anchor Bay High School.  The panel of four judges awarded the Concert Band with a Second Division rating, while the 9th Grade Cadet Band, 9th Grade Symphonic Band, Symphonic Band, and the Wind Ensemble all turned in First Division ratings.  Of the 15 possible performance categories the Wind Ensemble received all A's, including an impressive collection of 11 A+'s.  The Symphonic Band was equally outstanding receiving all A-, A, and A+ marks in performance.  To listen to the recordings from MSBOA Festival, CLIKC HERE (Coming soon).

Also impressive was the parental and student support in hosting the festival at Anchor Bay High School.  Over the two-day festival, over 75 parent and student volunteers helped put on the enormous event by running concessions, parking buses and cars, guiding bands, ushering people into the auditorium, working the back stage and loading dock area, and creating the signage necessary to mark areas of importance.  The visitors and bands performing at the festival were impressed with our facility and the cordial nature of our community.

A HUGE thank you to the many parent volunteers, student volunteers, and AB staff that helped to make hosting the MSBOA Band Festival such a success!

Your efforts made the Anchor School District shine bright over the two-day event.  We all appreciate your dedication and effort for the students of the ABHS Instrumental Music Department.

With many thanks,

Ms. Dee & Mr. Visnaw
