The schedule is set for our Anchor Bay School District Pre-Festival Concert on Wednesday, February 29, 2011.

» CMU JAZZ WEEKEND

On Friday, February 10th, the ABHS Jazz Ensemble will be performing at the annual Central Michigan University Jazz Weekend.  The performance is in the School of Music auditorium (time, TBA).  The students will be leaving on Thursday (2/9), and returning on Saturday (2/11) in the morning.

Friday evening, the band and chaperons will be attending the feature concert with guest artist, jazz trumpeter and composer, Bobby Shew.

» MARCHING TARS - STRAIGHT FIRST DIVISION!!!

Congratulations to the Anchor Bay High School Marching Tars!  On Tuesday, October 11th, the Marching Tars participated in the MSBOA District 16 Marching Band Festival at Port Huron High School.  The Marching Tars were awarded a straight First Division rating from the panel of three adjudicators in the class AA division.  The adjudicators judged the band in the categories of marching, music, and general effect.  The ensemble earned A's in all nine subcategories!  This marks the 13th consecutive year the Marching Tars have earned a First Division rating at this annual festival.

Please download and review this year's ABHS Instrumental Music Handbook in the Documents portion of our Media Center.  The "Parent/Student Commitment Form" (last page) is due for a grade on Friday, September 9th!

Included in this document is our Calendar of Events for the upcoming year.  There were a few incorrect football game dates in the document handed out on the first day of school.  They are corrected in this document.  Detailed and up-to-date calendar information can be found at http://www.anchorbaybands.org/calendar/.
